Call Routing
Engine

Decide exactly what happens to every inbound call — without touching code. Drag simple blocks onto a visual canvas to build a call flow, and CallRing AI runs it for each caller in real time: greet them, guide them through a menu, ring the right people, and never miss a message.

Call Routing

What is the Call Routing Engine?

The Call Routing Engine is the part of CallRing AI that answers your phone numbers and decides where each call should go. Instead of a fixed “ring one phone” setup, you build a call flow — a short sequence of steps a caller moves through. When someone dials your number, the engine plays your flow from top to bottom: a welcome message, a keypad menu, forwarding to a person or team, and a voicemail safety net if no one is available. You stay in full control and every change is live in seconds.

Manage your flow

Build call flows by dragging blocks

Pick a block from the palette, drop it on the canvas, and reorder it any time. This is the same editor you get inside CallRing AI — shown here in both light and dark.

The building blocks

Every block you can add to a flow

Combine these in any order to match how your team actually answers the phone.

Greeting

Play a spoken or recorded welcome the moment a caller connects.

Call Tree

Offer a “press 1 for sales” menu and branch the call by the caller’s choice.

Forward

Send the call straight to a single phone number.

Multi-Ringing

Ring several numbers at once — the first to pick up takes the call.

Round Robin

Rotate calls through a list of numbers so the load is shared evenly.

Schedule

Route differently by day and time — open hours, after hours, holidays.

Voicemail

Capture a message when nobody is free, with optional transcription.

Hang Up

Cleanly end the call after a message has played.

Behind the scenes

What happens the moment a call arrives

Every inbound call runs through the same reliable path before it ever reaches your flow.

1

Call arrives

A caller dials one of your numbers and it reaches CallRing AI.

2

Screen & verify

Spam checks, caller lookup and plan checks run before anything else.

3

Optional confirm

If enabled, the caller presses 1 to connect and hears your whisper note.

4

Run your flow

The engine plays your blocks in order — greeting, menu, ringing and more.

5

Connect or capture

The caller reaches an agent, or leaves a voicemail that gets transcribed.

Good to know

Thoughtful touches on every call

Press 1 to connect

Ask callers to confirm with a keypress before you are connected, cutting out silent and accidental calls.

Whisper messages

Play a short note to your agent before the call joins, so they know which line or campaign it came from.

Call recording

Record calls with an automatic spoken disclaimer, so you stay compliant while keeping a record.

Voicemail transcription

Turn missed calls into readable text so your team can scan and act on messages without listening back.

A flow per number

Give each phone number its own flow, so sales, support and campaigns never step on each other.

Live in seconds

Save a change and it applies to the very next call. No rebuilds, no phone hardware, no waiting.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to write code to route calls?

No. Every call flow is built with a drag-and-drop editor. You arrange blocks in the order you want and hit save — there is nothing to program and no phone hardware to buy.

Can a call ring more than one person?

Yes. Use Multi-Ringing to ring several numbers at once so the first to answer takes the call, or Round Robin to rotate calls evenly across a list of numbers.

What happens if nobody answers?

Add a Voicemail block and callers can leave a message. Turn on transcription and the message arrives as readable text you can scan in seconds.

Can calls be handled differently after hours?

Yes. The Schedule block sends calls down different paths based on the day and time, so open hours, after hours and holidays can each be handled their own way.

How quickly do changes take effect?

Instantly. As soon as you save a flow, it applies to the very next inbound call — no rebuild or deploy required.
